Structure Fire Peoquot Trail 3/24/2007

The Wequetequock Fire Department got the call for this structure fire at 910 Pequot Trail around 11:40 a.m. Saturday morning. When they arrived they had heavy fire on the first floor which quickly spread throughout the building. A tanker task force was called to the scene for water supply. One OMFD firefighter was injured when a deck off the second floor of the structure collapsed while he and one other firefighter were standing on it, he sustained no severe injury's and was released from the hospital that afternoon. The fire was brought under control, and an excavator was called in to demo a portion of the building to make it safe for the investigation team. The departments of North Stonington, Old Mystic, Stonington, and Pawcatuck were called to the scene with tankers from Center Groton, Gales Ferry, Ledyard, and Poquetanuck. Canteen 1, Mystic River Ambulance, and Stonington Ambulance were also called to help with rehab.
